About Colorado Weddings by Design

Again, I would like to congratulate you on your engagement! These are such exciting days and you have so much to look forward to. Weddings are my passion and being a wedding planner in beautiful Colorado is my dream job! My ultimate goal when working with engaged couples is to help you plan a beautiful, personal wedding that you and your guests will cherish and remember forever.

With me, I bring over fifteen years of wedding and event planning experience as well as my ongoing training, creativity and enthusiasm to work as your collaborative partner assuming as much or as little responsibility as you would like. Years ago, while working as an elementary teacher, the beauty and creativity involved in event planning captivated my interest and I began my studies and training to be a wedding planner. After years of preparation and earning my Professional Bridal Consultant credentials from the Association of Bridal Consultants, I realized my dream and opened up Weddings By Design. Over six years later, I still feel incredibly fortunate to be following my passion and working in an industry I love.

That passion I have for all events beautiful, unique and creative is what drives me to think outside of the box and help couples plan exquisite weddings that reflect their visions and personalities. I co-created and taught classes for brides around the Denver metro area and taught the wedding planning course in the hospitality department at Metro State College. I have also written two books about wedding planning, and in doing so, have worked with over fifty of the nation's most outstanding wedding planners.

Inspiration is at the heart of every distinctive event. My inspiration comes in so many forms - the joyful sparkle in my children's eyes, the shimmer of gold around the clouds as the sun dips behind the mountains, the endearing story of how the nervous, smitten groom-to-be proposed to his beloved fiance...

I take that inspiration and (literally) run with it! I do my most creative thinking as I pound the pavement or the trails. So, if you get a call and there's heavy breathing on the other end of the line, don't worry! It's just me calling with an exciting idea that I'm bursting to share with you and it just can't wait until the end of my run!
